On this very first First Friday of the new decade Progressive Sharing will be showing the paintings of Brian Boutwell.
We’re really captivated by Brian’s work and we know you will be too.
Please join us for a First Friday viewing on January 8th from 7 - 10pm.
Each show at Progressive Sharing is an exploration of one big idea.
This show is about River Travel.
In July of this year John and Charlie paddled a canoe 240 miles down the Delaware River for ten days, documenting their journey as the river changed from turbulent spring to industrial tidewater. They’ll be sharing their photographs, videos and journal entries from the trip.
In August our third annual homemade barge went into the Susquehanna River. Several months and many different captains and guests later the barge is still floating near Nanticoke, Pa, but we’re going to to try to retrieve a section of it this week. If it fits into the freight elevator you can see it in the gallery on First Friday. If it doesn’t, you’ll probably see it in front of the gallery on the sidewalk…
Join us for a First Friday opening reception on November 6th from 7 - 10pm, we’ll be serving wine and filtered river water for your refreshment.
Ted Passon’s video of our wine glass playing under the neighborhood train trestle at the Music & Sound show is finally here!
Each bi-monthly show at Progressive Sharing is an exploration of one big idea.
This show is about gambling.
We have an authentic recreation of a dice table at the end of a night of dice playing by Andrew H. Shirley, audio recordings of gambling executives, professionals and amateurs sharing their thoughts about online poker, anti-gambling statistics and literature from the Philadelphia Anti Casino Organization, a cooperative piece with the National Greyhound Adoption Program about former racing greyhounds, self-hypnosis for compulsive gamblers, and more.
Come visit our show tonight, First Friday July 3rd 7 - 10pm.
If you can’t come tonight, the show will be up until the end of August and we’ll have another First Friday opening on August 7th 7 - 10pm, former racing Greyhounds Queen and Iceman will be present as well as artist and dice playing enthusiast Andrew Shirley.
Highlights of the first show at Progressive Sharing include a 17 ft long graphite rubbing of a concert piano from Richard Schort, Rose Bochansky & Matthew Snyder’s card cabinet of sounds, an audio and visual piece from Craig Van Hise that explores a common denominator between Mozart & the Beatles, Kellam Clark’s homemade instrument “Mike”, plus Sam Whitcraft demonstrating his 1910 Victor Talking Machine and more.
